Join a hands-on, practical course over four workshops, to learn and participate in establishing a fruit tree nursery of around 150 specimens.

On 4 Sundays from 10am – 12noon or 1230pm - 230pm at Leith Community Croft. Course Leader and Nursery Manager: Tom Watson. Day 1 – Ground Preparation - December 10th, Weeding and digging to prepare beds with an introductory discussion on fruit trees. Day 2 – Tree Planting - Feb 11th - Planting of rootstock in prepared beds. Day 3 - Tree Grafting - March 11th - Grafting scions of various varieties onto the rootstock Day 4 - Aftercare – May 6th - Review of grafting success, and nursery preparation for the season ahead.

Due to popular demand in this course, each day is split into two sessions. Tom the tutor is keen to make sure people get the most out of any workshop, hence limiting the numbers and that people sign up for a morning or an afternoon session. Each session will be a stand alone workshop, however if interested, it is still possible for people to attend both am and pm.
