Bird and Wildlife Watching at the Park!
Know your Chaffinch from your Goldfinch? On Saturday 26th of January the Friends of Saughton Park will be bird and wildlife watching in Saughton Park and we need your help!
For one hour between 2 and 3 pm on the 26th the Friends will be bird and wildlife spotting as part of the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch weekend!
Whether you are an experienced bird watcher or an amateur enthusiast (like me!), come along and help us spot and record the birds and wildlife.
Meet at the Balgreen Road car park, by the skate park for a 2pm start.
We are looking to build up a good picture of what type of species are regularly foraging at the Park and calling it home, so we can enhance and protect the habitat for our furry and feathered (as well as scaly, slimy and slithering!) friends. Even if we don’t see anything, this is still useful information!
If you can’t make it on the 26th, but are taking part in the Big Garden Birdwatch, Saughton Park is a great place to conduct your own survey at anytime over the weekend! In fact it’s a great space for wildlife and birdwatching at any time of the year!
We are really interested in hearing what you can find! Let us know what you see at the Park on our Facebook and Twitter pages or email us at friendsofsaughtonpark@gmail.com
